A scene covers the recording for a stretch. It adds no time: the recording goes on under it.

Move the playhead, press Add scene in the timeline toolbar and pick the kind. Drag its edges on the scene lane. Scenes never overlap.
Title card
Big words over the background of the style. Write the text in the toolbar; Word by word makes each word appear as it is said.

The Script and the voice over can make a card from a sentence: select the words, then Title card.
Face
The webcam fills the screen: Wide, Medium or Close-up. Split here divides the scene at the playhead and the second part takes another framing: the jump cut of talking-head videos. Face scenes need a take with a webcam.
Video clip
Video clip: pick an MP4 or MOV file of yours. It is copied into the take and starts at the playhead for its whole length, or for the room there is.
- Drag its left edge to start later in the clip, its right edge to end sooner.
- The slider is the volume of the clip's own sound; at zero the clip is silent. While a voice over line speaks the clip goes down and comes back after it.
- Fill fills the frame and crops what does not fit; off shows the whole picture over the background.
A cut inside a clip scene cuts the clip too, and a faster stretch plays it faster: keep a clip over a stretch at normal speed.
Image
Image: pick one or more pictures (JPG, PNG, WEBP). Each becomes a scene of a few seconds, one after the other, with a slow push in. Fill works as for a clip.
