Guide
The Ciakko guide.
How to record, edit and export a video with Ciakko, one step at a time, with the screens you will see.
Start here
- Your first video From the first recording to the exported MP4: record the screen, check the automatic zooms, add captions, export.
- Install, sign in, the trial What Ciakko needs, how to install it from the Microsoft Store or with the installer, how signing in works and what the trial includes.
Recording
- Recording Record a whole screen, one window, an area or a website, with microphone, webcam and the computer's sound; pause, retakes and chapters while you record.
- The Ciakko browser A browser window of Ciakko's own, made to record websites at the exact size of the video, with your logins kept between sessions.
Projects
- The Library and projects Projects hold the takes of one video in order, with their Shorts and exported videos. Create, order, move, rename and delete them.
- Project context and take instructions Tell Claude what your product is with a brief and your documents, and tell it what you recorded in each take, typed or dictated.
Editing
- The editor at a glance The preview, the timeline and its lanes, the tabs on the right, undo and autosave, and the Project actions menu.
- Zooms Automatic zooms from your clicks and typing, zooms added by hand, framing a zoom on the preview, the zoom level, regenerating them.
- Style, format and framing The background, margin, corners and shadow around the recording, the presets, the 16:9, 9:16 and 1:1 formats, and how a vertical video frames a wide recording.
- The cursor Ciakko draws the pointer again on top of the video: bigger, smoother, with a ring on every click, hidden when it sits still.
- The camera bubble Your webcam as a bubble over the screen, its size and place, and a blurred background made on your PC.
- Sound and music Microphone and computer sound, a cleaner voice, one steady volume for YouTube, and one piece of music under every take of the project.
- Captions Captions written from your voice on your PC, or laid on the voice over, in six styles, in the picture or only in the .srt file.
- Cuts and speed Split and remove parts of the take, play a part faster or slower, and speed up the stretches where nothing happens.
- Clean up and the Script Ciakko proposes cuts for long pauses, filler words and retakes, and lets you cut the video by deleting words from the transcript.
- Scenes Title cards, your face full screen, video clips and images that cover the recording for a stretch, without adding time.
- Texts, arrows and boxes Short texts, arrows and boxes over the video that point the viewer at what matters; arrows and boxes follow the zoom.
- Voice over A natural voice reads lines you write at the moments you choose, in many languages, with pronunciations you set once.
- Chapters Chapters split the video into sections YouTube shows on its progress bar, ready to paste in the description.
Publishing
- Shorts Turn a stretch of a long take into a vertical 9:16 video for YouTube Shorts, over the same recording, with the edits of that stretch.
- YouTube thumbnail A 1280x720 image for YouTube made from a frame of the video, with big text and, if you want, your face cut out of the webcam.
- Export Write the MP4 with every edit, the captions file and the chapters next to it; export a whole project as one video; still images.
